The Tijuca Forest and Sugar Loaf Tour in Rio de Janeiro mixes in one trip, two of the most popular places to visit in Rio. This trip usually starts with a guided visit to the Sugar Loaf, using its famous cable car , in operation since 1912. The ride in the cable car is divided in two sections, one from the city level to the Urca mountain , and the other from Urca mountain to the famous Pão de Açúcar mountain (or simply Sugar Loaf for foreigners). From its summit, the view is breathtaking . In one single frame, one can see the Corcovado mountain, the Aterro do Flamengo, downtown Rio, the Guanabara bay area , as well as the fortresses of Santa Cruz and Laje by the bay entrance, and copacabana beach.
After visiting the Sugar Loaf , we head out to Tijuca Forest national park, where many different species of mammals and birds can be seen along the way. Besides seeing the local animals in their natural habitat, the drivers stop the vehicles so you can take pictures of animals and plants while the tour guides will go through some explanations about the park`s history. Stops happen at the Taunay`s waterfalls, the Chinese View , and the visitor`s center, a sort of small museum of the park. A short hike in the forest is also included.
Tour Program:
Pick up at 08:00 am from client´s hotel or airbnb apartments in Rio city. ( In summer, pick up at 07:30 am)
We head out towards Sugar Loaf, arriving there around 08:30 am.
We visit the mountain for 1.5 hour then head out towards the Forest.
We visit the forest for about 2.5 hours then head back to hotel, arriving between 01:00 pm and 02:00 pm.
Pick up, drop off, tour to the forest and sugar loaf and bilingual guide.
Entry fee to Sugar Loaf ( R$ 180,00 per person) , food and drinks.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, clothes, a cap and sunscreen on sunny days.

If you don’t want to open an account, you will not be able to pay with a credit card, and will only be able to pay via local bank transfer( PIX).
