About Corcovado Mountain
The name Corcovado means hunch back, and was given due to the mountain`s similarity to a camel back (corcova). The statue of Christ at the top, is 38 meters tall (around 120 feet) and is one of the new seven wonders of the world. The trail is a bit steep at some points, which is perfect for regular hikers or the more adventurous ones. It Is considered to be a moderate/difficult hike, so being in good physical conditions is a must Along the way, within the lush Tijuca Forest , animals like toucans, capuchin monkeys and many other species may be spotted. Unlike the other hikes in Rio, this one does not take you to the summit, but close to it. The trail ends at the gate, where tickets to access the statue by van must be purchased.

Our Corcovado Hiking Tour in Rio de Janeiro starts with the hotel pick up at 07:00am, towards the Parque Laje (Laje Park), located in the south area of Rio de Janeiro city, not far from the Botanical Garden
Once there, we start the 2 hours hike on a steep trail, up to the top at 710 meters ( 2330 feet), The trail ends at the gate, where tickets to access the statue by van must be purchased. The ride inside the van takes only 5 minutes.
After visiting the statue and checking the amazing views for about 40 minutes, we get back in the van to reach the trail by the gate. The return to Parque Laje is made through the same trail. Tour ends around 12:00/01:00 pm
