There are lockers at the club, but we encourage our customers to travel light, as lockers may be all taken by other customers.

Schedules

Please note that the time listed on your voucher is the meeting time rather than a specific flight time. The exact time of the takeoff is uncertain as it is based on wind conditions, ramp congestion, and the pace of takeoffs.

We have schedules daily, from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm. Just choose one when booking this experience. Customers will have to meet us outside the Hang Gliding club. Address on the voucher.

Weight limit

There is a passenger weight limit of 80 kilos (175 lbs). This limit may be lowered  to 70 kilos ( 155 lbs) according to wind conditions.

Dress Code

To hang gliding in Rio, wear comfortable clothes and shoes. No jeans pants as it is too stiff on the legs. Do not wear sandals or flip-flops. Avoid wearing glasses during the flight ( wind may make it fall).

Booking Tips

When you book a flight, please note that you will be paying ONLY a deposit  per person. The remainder will be paid in cash to our flight coordinator. If the client decides to pay with a credit card, a 10% surcharge is applied to the transaction.

Please disregard the message on the voucher that says the activity has been paid in full. It is a limitation of the booking engine that does not recognize the payment as a DEPOSIT. Clients who claim that they did not see this detail before they made the payment will not be eligible for a refund, in case they request it based on this matter.

Avoid booking flights during carnival season and New Year’s, especially from the 30th of December to January 2nd. The ramp over Pedra Bonita is the ONLY ramp available for tandem flights in Rio, and the number of flights can triple during this time, which can make the waiting frustrating and exhausting for both the customer and the pilot. Yet, if you cannot avoid those periods, be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any extra time spent there, or any possible delays on your schedule.

Prefer earlier schedules as there are fewer people over the ramp.

About the files with videos:

Files will be transferred to the client`s smartphone. Please check if all files are in it before you leave the beach. In case you do not bring your phone, we will send the video via Dropbox. In case there is any issue with the files, customers have 7 days to report it and request new files or a refund of R$ 100,00, in case the files have been erased from our system.

About the Video Prices:

Videos are purchased there, and decision has to be made before the flight so the pilot knows which cameras to turn on. Prices range from R$ 200,00 ( front and side videos) to R$ 300,00 ( 360 videos)

Our calendar will display our availability for this tour. Our cut-off time is 2 HS before schedule . 

CANCELATIONS AND REFUND ELEGIBILITY: 

1- We do not cancel flights on cloudy days unless the ceiling is too low and the ramp is closed by the hang gliding club. If clients decide to cancel the flight on flyable cloudy days, we will not be able to issue refunds.

2- In case of sudden wind changes, if clients are already at the ramp, they must wait for at least 01 hour before they can request a flight cancelation and be eligible for a refund.

3 – In case clients are late, we can wait for 20 minutes. After that, we WILL TRY to fit them in the next available schedule for that day or any other day. In case they cannot reschedule the flights,  or in case we do not have room that day, we will retain the deposit in full as it will be considered a no-show.  Clients who simply do not show up, or cancel on the same day or even the days before the flight will not be elligible for refunds. The deposit will be used to compensate the pilot who waited for the client but ended up not flying. 

4- In case weather is poor and flight is rescheduled, the same rules of the number 3 section above will be applied.

5-The weight limit for Hang Gliding is 80 kilos for safety reasons. Sometimes we have to lower that limit to 70 kilos depending on the wind conditions or in case of sudden changes in the wind speed. In case that happens and the client is over 80 kilos, he or she will be directed to a Paragliding pilot. If they do not agree to fly on a Paraglider, we can reschedule the flight for another day or issue a full refund.

6 – In case our Hang Gliding pilot suspects that the client weights more than 80 kilos, he or she will be kindly asked to step on the scale, to verify the weight. Clients who fail to provide accurate information about their weight by stepping on the scale, will not be able to fly. If they accept to step on the scale, and are over 80 kilos, they will be directed to a Paragliding pilot , if we have one available, as long as they are under 110 kilos. If he or she do not accept the offer, or if we do not have a Paragliding pilot available, or even if conditions are not favorable for Paragliding, we will not be able to issue refunds.

7 – In case sudden changes happen at the ramp, and flights have to be canceled, we will offer a full refund for the deposit paid if clients cannot reschedule the flight.

8 – Clients cannot bring their own cameras to use during the flight. The price already includes photos and video.

9 – All clients must wear proper walking or running shoes. No sandals are allowed. Jeans  pants are also not allowed. Only stretchy pants and shorts.

10 – If clients decide not to fly once they are at the ramp, for any reason, we will not be able to issue refunds.

11 – Clients must travel light when coming to the meeting point. The flight club has lockers but sometimes they can be all taken. Be advised not to come to the meeting point with bags. 

12- Passports are not needed when signing the terms at the club> Digital photos of the passport, IDs or DL are accepted.

13 – Clients must be 18 years or older in order to fly. Minors at the age of 14 and on can fly with legal guardians or parents present.
