Hawaiian Canoeing Outrigger Rio de Janeiro

1 hour

Easy

Our Hawaiian Canoeing in Rio de Janeiro starts from Marina da Glória, inside the Guanabara bay area.

Outrigger canoeing became quite popular in Hawaii during the beginning of the 20th century. In Rio, the practice of this activity has been growing very fast since 2005, and many competitions have also been taking place. The long and thin canoe can fit up to 10 passengers and can go really fast in the water.

Our Hawaiian Canoeing in Rio de Janeiro starts from Marina da Glória, inside the Guanabara bay area. Soon after the safety instructions are given, the group will head out to the water to start the activity. Places visited include the Forte da Laje (Laje Fortress), a stone construction right by the entrance of Guanabara Bay. Besides seeing the fortress, travelers will enjoy the panoramic views of Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Botafogo and Flamengo beaches, Tijuca Forest and Niteroi city.

This activity is recommended to travelers in good physical conditions as the use of both arms is needed for about 1 hour.
