Sonst super Ausflug!
I really appreciated the services of Ro adventures as represented by Rafael Caja who is quite friendly and efficient in dealing with his clients. It was lovely to have him sharing his knowledge with us and taking us to the top of the mountain. Thumbs up to Rio adventures and our guide.
A group of 4 of us spent some time with Rafael as he guided us to Pico da Tijuca with Rafael. He was very knowledgeable about the area and made the hike a fun exploration. Being an experienced adventurer put us at ease going up the mountain. I would recommend hiking up the mountain with him!
We hiked through the Tijuca Forest to the peak. Where my fiancé then proposed! A very memorable experience with a knowledgeable, well travelled guide.
We did the Tijuca trail hike. The guide picked us up from the hotel and took us to the trail. He was very friendly, knowledgable and spoke excellent English. His passion for the outdoors meant he could tell us a lot about the different hikes, activities and sights in Rio. Would definitely recommend booking with Rio Adventures as they gave us a fantastic experience.
I have been hiking twice now with Rio Adventures - the first time to Tijuca Peak (3 hours, moderate) and the second time to Pedra Bontia (2 hours, moderate). Both times the experience was excellent. You need to bring plenty of water. The guides were real Cariocans who were happy to speak in English or let you practise your Portuguese. The second time, I decided to do a combination tour that started with the hiking at 8.00am followed by trips to Christ Statue, The Botanical Garden and finally Sugar Loaf. Going with the Rio Adventures guide has many advantages, for example, the guide gets you to the front of the queue at the attractions, you are in a private car and there is no time wasted wating for a tour bus to fill up, you learn a lot about life in Rio from the guide, the guide is flexible and will let you stay as long as you like at each attraction. I recommend the customised combination tour for people making their first trip to Rio - you can get to see all of the main attractions in Rio in one day that way. I highly recommend Rio Adventures and its guides.
