Our Schooner Trip in Rio de Janeiro takes you around the Guanabara bay area, to see its most interesting spots.
The Guanabara bay is the second largest bay in Brazil, measuring 31 kilometers long and 28 kilometers wide. The name Guanabara comes from the Tupi language and means sea bay. There are over 130 islands on the bay, which is crossed by the Rio- Niterói bridge (13 kilometers long). A regular ferryboat line connects Rio to Niterói city. The land escape around the bay is awesome and highlights include Sugar Loaf mountain, the beaches of Niterói, the Boa Viagem island and the amazing view of Rio once we are in Niterói.
