About Niterói

Our Niteroi City Tour takes you to the other side of Guanabara bay, to Niterói city, a charming middle class town with a great view of Rio city. It`s a beautiful town, with awesome beaches and excellent restaurants. Niterói is considered one of the wealthiest cities of Rio de Janeiro state, with a higher income and a better life quality, comparing to most of its cities . With a bit less than 500.000 inhabitants , the city has one of the largest concentration of high schools and colleges in the country.

In this tour, you will visit the world famous Museum of Contemporary Arts (MAC) , designed by Oscar Niemeyer, one of the most respected architects of our country. Also, you will visit one of the largest and oldest fortifications ever built in Brazil, called Fortaleza de Santa Cruz . Along the way, the tour passes by the most famous bay beaches of Niterói. On the way back, we go up the hill to the city park, to check the most amazing view of Rio de Janeiro city, that only Niteroi can offer.

Tour Program:

We start the tour with pick ups at 08:00 from hotels and airbnb apartments in Rio city.

We arrive in Niterói city around 08:30am. The tour guide will do a sightseeing through the coastline, passing by the downtown area, ferryboat station, then Gragoatá Fortress, Boa Viagem Island, and finally, the first stop at the MAC museum.

Tour moves on, passing by the beaches of Flechas, Icaraí, São Francisco, Charitas, before it reaches the Santa Cruz Fortress. After visiting the fortress for about 01 hour, tour follows to the city park.

We are back in Rio city around 01:00pm. End of our operations.
